However, many sources fail to mention that you can also get this valuable vitamin by eating fruits and vegetables. If you aren’t a fan of taking pills, this could be the perfect alternative for you. Many fruits have high levels of vitamin C in them, especially orange juice and oranges themselves. Vegetables that are known for their abundance in vitamin C include bell peppers, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kiwi fruit and potatoes.

2. Vitamin E is a vitamin that works wonders for your skin. 

It’s supposed to improve your skin’s elasticity, strength and clarity, making it appear smoother and more even. Some people have claimed that vitamin E is one of the most important vitamins for overall health but for the skin it is an essential vitamin. Vitamin E prevents acne, improves the tone and appearance of healthy skin and can help reduce wrinkles as well. 

It’s often recommended that people get 100 percent of their daily value in vitamin E through food sources because we need to balance our intake from both food and supplements to ensure optimal health. Many foods are fortified with vitamin E, including wheat germ, cereal, vegetable oils and nuts.

3. Vitamin A is not only good for your eyes but also your skin.

It helps your skin stay healthy and soft. Vitamin A is often used topically as a form of treatment for skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema because it’s known to reduce redness and swelling, which allows the skin to heal faster while also reducing the chance of scarring or discoloration after the fact. 

It is also thought to reduce skin inflammation, which can cause your skin to look red or irritated in the first place. Taking vitamin A can also be an effective treatment for acne and eczema because it helps soothe your skin down to the root level and offers a boost of nutrients to your skin.

4. Vitamin D is also a vitamin that’s good for your skin. 

This vitamin is said to improve skin’s elasticity, strength and clarity. When taken from food sources, it helps increase the amount of calcium and phosphorus in your body. As we grow, our bodies need those two substances to help form healthy bones and teeth. Since it doesn’t come from food sources in significant amounts, most people take a vitamin D supplement instead to meet their requirement for this vital nutrient. 

A study done by the National Institute of Health found that a person who takes high doses of vitamin D daily will reduce their risk of developing diabetes by 33 percent as well as significantly lower their chances of dying from heart disease by up to 40 percent.
