Quick and Easy Fix For Your HAIR DYE

Love your hair dye, but hate the mess it leaves? Have to put a dry shampoo on your head immediately after you dye it so the color lasts longer? How to remove a perm from black hair? Have no time to wash and dry your hair before work? Well, never fear. Here are some quick tips and tricks for making your hair dye job look perfect without breaking a sweat! The more you avoid using shampoo, the better of a match you will have with your new color. Plus, if you use hairspray in between washes then you won’t have to worry about getting any excess oils from washing down the drain.

1. Hair Dye Works Better On Dry Hair

Hairspray is great for adding texture, but it messes with the dye’s ability to bond and stick to your hair. This means that you need to wash and dry your hair before you apply hairspray.

2. Don’t Wash Your Hair The Day Before

Water or chlorine in your hair can damage the dye, causing it to lose its intensity or fade quickly. Washing your hair the day before will also clean away any oils on your scalp that could be affecting your color.

3. When You Actually Wear the Color…

Next time you dye your hair then don’t wash it for at least 24 hours. Just let the color set, and when you wash the next day then it will be dry enough to actually remove the color and shampoo. This is especially important if you are using a dark color that will have to stay on for a long time like black or red.

4. Spray Down That Hair Spray

If you have hairspray in between washes then use some more before going into any kind of activity where sweat or dampness can come into contact with your wet hair.

5. NOTHING WILL FIX IT LIKE ANOTHER HAIRSPRAY

You can actually use hairspray to fix your hair dye problems. Spritz it over the dye and then let it set overnight. This will ensure that the color is evenly distributed, making it less likely to fade quickly.

6. Stop Conditioning For a Day

Conditioner seals in moisture, which causes your hair to look greasy even when you aren’t using any product at all. If you really want to get rid of any greasiness then stop conditioning for a day or two before you dye again. Even if your scalp is oily this will help avoid creating a bad match with your hair color.

7. Buy It At The Drugstore

As I said before, water and chlorine are no good for hair dye. If you have hard or very well water then make sure you buy your dye from a drugstore. They often have a better solution than bottled water, and there is less of the chemicals that will interfere with the color.

8. Don’t Be Afraid To Go Darker

If you get it done professionally then be willing to go with a little darker color on your first try. Ask for something that is closer to what you want than what would normally be expected of your hair color. This way you can avoid wasting money and time trying again and again to find the exact shade of color that will never exist!

9. Put it On Before You Go

When you’re in a rush and don’t have time to wash your hair it’s okay to just put some dye on. This is the perfect time to use a dye that has a low amount of ammonia in it, like temporary blonde dye or purple. If you use those colors then they will fade out with more natural colors anyway so the upfront application won’t matter much.

10. Don’t Shampoo Your Hair That Often

Avoid shampooing your hair every day, especially if you’re having issues with greasiness or dryness. When you shampoo too often then the oils that are already in your scalp can cause dyes to fade faster!

11. Keep the Color From Fading

If you want your hair to keep its color for longer then use a conditioner after you dye it. It will keep the hair around your scalp from drying out, and if you use a hot combs or brush then this will help prevent any redness or irritation.

12. Don’t Do It All Over Your Body

When it comes to getting your hair dyed without any fuss then avoid putting it everywhere – especially on your underarms or back! You won’t be able to rinse off the dye from these areas, and any bacteria that might be lurking in these areas can cause hair dyes to fade faster.

13. Skip the Washing

If you get your hair dyed in a salon then ask for a rinse or even tell them during the initial consultation if you don’t plan on washing it after. It’s always a good idea to get the most bang for your buck, so why not save some money and skip the shampoo. You can always wash after if you want to – just be sure not to dye your hair before drying it!

14. Mix It With Other Colors

If you are having trouble finding a color that will match well with your hair then mix up some other colors with your main one. For example, yellow can match green or blue really well, so try mixing them together instead of using blues only.
