The first time I saw the mysterious “unknown fs0” I was immediately taken aback. I had no idea what this meant, but it was a pretty interesting looking thing. As I read the data, I came to realize that the file was a Linux kernel function which is used to store system information in memory. So, why didn’t I see it in my shell, I wondered.
That is indeed a linux file, but it’s called unknown fs0 and it contains information about the kernel. It may be a kernel file as it is used to store system information in memory, but it is not used to store system information in kernel space, which is why it was named unknown.
That I find interesting. Maybe it is a kernel file which happens to look like a system file? And maybe there is a special purpose file that is used to store system information in kernel space. I don’t know, but it is interesting.

How exactly do you define the configuration information? Well, the configuration information is information about the configuration of the kernel.
