Wanna watch a movie? MTs in Bozeman

On Fridays, movies bozeman will host a movie night where we watch whatever movie that has been voted on.

The first Friday of every month, one lucky MT will go into MT Trivia to pick what movie we should watch! And the second Saturday of every month, we’ll decide based on what all of you want to see.

So if you’re looking for something new to do or just want an excuse to get off your laptop for once and take some fresh air, come out and enjoy movies with MTs. Be there at 7:45pm to watch the movie, and don’t forget to bring a chair!

The Friday night movie is held at the Graham Park bandstand next to the pond. Come be close to nature and enjoy what Montana has to offer.

The Saturday morning movie will be held on campus in front of G-TAC.

Here are some points discussed about MTs in Bozeman

1. When is the movie night?

Friday nights from 7:45pm-9:30pm. Come and watch a movie or encourage a friend to watch a movie. It’s free!  It’s a change of pace from the same old MTs in Bozeman.

We have some amazing people who volunteer to host the movies. But it’s going to be up to you which one you get to host.

2. Where is the movie shown?

The bandstand located between SLC, SC and G-TAC on campus will be where we show our movies.  The show will be filmed and uploaded to the page after the movie is over.

3. What time does the movie start?

7:45pm – 9:30pm, every Friday night. There will only be one show per night and it will last about 30min.

We’ll start filming around 7:45pm and we’ll end up filming for 30min after we finish our show and around 9:00-9:30pm most nights.

Of course it depends on who’s hosting and what movie we’re showing that night, but generally this is what the schedule looks like.

4. What movies will be shown?

The movies on MTs movie night will be chosen by the movie watchers of MTs in Bozeman.  There are two options that we can choose from, “your pick” or “our pick”.

Your pick is where the whole group votes on what movie to watch, and our pick is where one random person (or person of your choice) chooses the movie to watch for the night.

The logjam also has some amazing people who will help us select what movies to show.  They’ve chosen some great movies in the past like not even popular movies like “Trailer Park Boys.”

5. What is the cost?

There is no cost for this event.  You can make a donation to MTs in Bozeman if you wish. There is also a cost for the movie night in Graham Park.

The movie night costs $5 which goes directly towards purchasing the movie and paying for your chair, but it will be worth it!

6. Are there any specific items that you need to bring with you?

Yes, there’s a specific list that we ask everyone to bring with them on the night of the movie so we know everyone who’s coming and don’t have any problems at all with parking or anything like that.

These are just some suggestions that are really helpful to have with you.

The list is as follows:

Headset/ear plug

Water bottle -Chair -Picnic blanket -Toiletries, if possible -Any other food/snacks that you would like to bring with you

7. Is there anything else I should know?

Yes, there are lots of people who would love to join MTs in Bozeman but aren’t members of other clubs on campus.

These people still want to be able to come out and help host the movie nights.  If you feel this is something that you would be interested in doing, please message me as well as the other members of the events committee.

We will always try our best to find you a spot within your first week or so of joining MTs.  We’ve been lucky to have people join us from other organizations but also from students who just didn’t want anything else going on and decided to join us.

8. Who should I contact?

For any questions regarding MTs in Bozeman, please contact either myself or any of the other members of the committee by messaging them on Facebook or through Pidgin IM. You can also message any of the officers and they will be happy to help you!

9. What are the requirements to join?

You must be a full-time student at Montana Tech, be willing to work to accomplish an MTs end goal, and have fun doing it!

There are no official requirements for joining MTs in Bozeman other than that. We are always looking for new people who would like to attend or host any MTs event.
