When it comes to making repairs, we don’t actually stop to think about how it all ties together. Maybe we notice something, like we’ve cut ourselves, and we have to take care of it without looking too closely at the damage. Or maybe we’re having trouble with a car or with a computer and it’s time to take care of that. This is where the warranty void becomes a problem.
The easiest way to fix something that’s broken is to take it to a repair shop to get a technician to fix it. That’s exactly what we’re doing with the warranty void, but because we’re taking it to a repair shop, we have to provide them with our phone number. This is, of course, a violation of the warranty and we’ll probably end up getting sued.
Well we were, but not because we were doing something wrong, we were doing something right. We were taking it to a repair shop to get a mechanic to fix the problem, and in doing so, we were providing a repair service to the dealer.
We’re doing a service to the dealer, but we’re not giving them our phone number. We’re just letting them know that our warranty is void. We’re not making them think we’re going to call them and say, “Hey, your warranty is void. Do you mind calling me so I can get your phone number back so we can actually go get the repair guy?” We’re just letting them know that it’s not our fault.
In other words, you can’t really void a warranty if you don’t give the dealer your phone number. We did not see any indication that the dealer was upset that we were not giving them our phone number, so we don’t think there were any issues here.
There is a chance that you might be able to void the warranty by selling it back to them. This is possible since most manufacturers do not provide warranty repair services. But the warranty of a brand like this is a bit more complicated. They should have a clause in their warranty that says, “If you ever decide to void our warranty, we will pay you for any repair costs you incur.
The warranty of a manufacturer like this is a bit more complicated. Well, that’s what you would think, right? You would think that a warranty is a contract between you and the manufacturer. So it would be pretty weird for a manufacturer to not cover you, but that’s not the case.
So what is this warranty then? Well, it is basically a contract between you and the manufacturer (or a service) where you agree to pay for any repair or replacement you need for your product. Now, we have a bunch of services that we could be talking about, like your car, and your bike repair. But its probably pretty common sense to imagine that if you have a car, that you could at least have a mechanic come and do it.
Well yes, you could have a mechanic come to your house to fix your car, but not your bike. As you can imagine, bikes are pretty expensive to replace. There are probably hundreds of thousands of bikes that would need to be fixed or replaced. The warranty on a bike is a little bit more complicated. You can usually expect to pay a certain amount up front, plus a maintenance fee after your bike is used a few times.
As you might guess, bikes are pretty fickle. Every time you ride your bike, it can go down. The warranty can lapse in a moment, so you can be spending a good part of your day riding away with a brand new bike that you might have purchased with a brand new warranty. At the very least, you should get a replacement bike, but you shouldn’t expect to have your bike fixed without paying.
