It is undoubtedly one of the biggest recent news in the airline industry about British Airlines. Yet again it is due to coronavirus and now the world’s one of the busiest routes has been completely shut down. It’s because of the fact the very first case of vaccine-resistant COVID-19 has already been identified in South Africa and experts say that it might have already spread as well in African and Middle Eastern regions. So now you cannot take British Airway cheap flights or any other type of flights to travel between the UAE and London.

The News

The (UK) United Kingdom is restricting direct traveler trips to and from the (UAE) United Arab Emirates from Friday, shutting the world’s busiest global aircraft from Dubai to London. The UK (United Kingdom) has said it has added the UAE (United Arab Emirates), Burundi, and Rwanda to its list of coronavirus travel bans. Now people from these countries cannot take British Airways cheap flights due to concerns about the spread of the more contagious and potentially vaccine-resistant COVID-19 variant, first identified in South Africa.

It means that those who have stayed or transited through these countries will be refused entry, with the exception of the UK (United Kingdom), Irish and third-country nationals with legal residence who must self-isolate at home for ten days, said the British Transport Minister Grant Shapps on social media Thursday. Emirates and Etihad Airways announced on their websites that they would suspend all UK passenger flights from 13:00 GMT on Friday when the ban would take effect.

Dubai Announcement

Dubai Airport in a statement recommended travelers to book British Airways cheap flights or any other airline flights to the UK (United Kingdom) after the ban entered into force not to go to the airport and contact the airlines instead. The UK (United Kingdom) Department of Transport has advised British nationals currently in the United Arab Emirates to use commercial airline indirect routes if they wish to return to the UK (United Kingdom).

On a side note, you can still take Lahore to Dubai flights but you cannot travel with British Airlines for this purpose. The UK (United Kingdom) Department of Transport has advised UK (United Kingdom) nationals currently residing in the UAE to take intermediate commercial airline routes if they wish to return to the UK (United Kingdom). In January, Dubai to London was the busiest global course on the planet with 190 365 seats per month, as per information supplier OAG (Office of the Attorney General).

Coronavirus Destination

The United Arab Emirates is home to thousands of British expatriates and has been a popular destination for social media influencers during the pandemic who have caused concern in the UK (United Kingdom) by claiming they traveled to work and then posted vacation photos online. The country is currently closed and people can’t take British Airways cheap flights as they are banned from traveling abroad.

Dubai last week blocked its entertainment scene and suspended unnecessary operations in hospitals after the coronavirus cases surged. Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, called itself an open, sunny, and quarantine-free escape winter in the northern hemisphere. But the number of COVID-19 infections has increased since the New Year. The UAE’s flagship carriers Emirates and Etihad also typically carry large numbers of connecting passengers from the UK to destinations like Australia.

So the decision to cancel flights will have far-reaching consequences. The Australian government said it would add more charter flights from the UK as a result of the ban, if necessary. Eran Ben-Avraham, the Australian stuck in the UK due to strict restrictions on the number of people arriving in Australia, said his return home opportunities are constantly dwindling.

At the moment, it only gives us three options to fly in Qatar, ANA, or Singapore Airlines said the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It’s getting more and more difficult and complicated to reach home day after day.
