The debate about the benefits of cannabis carvana drug test policy is a hot one. The arguments are fueled by emotion, not facts and studies, which makes it hard to decipher what is truth and what is just unsubstantiated opinion. Luckily, there’s a new website that brings some clarity to the discussion.

The site, called The Truth About CBD, attempts to answer all your questions about CBD (cannabidiol) oil: Is it safe? What are its benefits? Does it work for everyone? It’s designed to be an unbiased resource for anyone trying to learn more.

1. What makes this site different from other sites about CBD oil?

This site aims to be a scientifically accurate resource on CBD, not just a blog that promotes or criticizes the use of CBD. Our goal is to be unbiased, which is why we’ve partnered with the Scientific Research Institute for the Study of Cannabis and Hemp (SRI) to help us ensure we’re posting factual and detailed information.

2. What exactly is CBD oil?

CBD (cannabidiol) oil is extracted from the hemp plant, which contains only trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the marijuana component that causes a “high.” CBD oil does not make you high.

3. What are the benefits of CBD oil?

CBD has been shown to have many health benefits. In fact, more than 100 studies have been conducted on CBD and its effects on health, including studies that show that it can reduce seizures in children with severe forms of epilepsy, provide relief from anxiety and pain, and soothe inflammation. The FDA just approved the first prescription drug derived from cannabis—a compound found in marijuana called Epidiolex—to treat two rare forms of epilepsy in children.

4. How much is recommended?

It’s best to read how much particular brands recommend in the dosage information section of the product information page (linked above). We always encourage you to pay attention to the dosage information.

5. Should I be concerned about safety?

There are plenty of CBD products available online and in stores, but there is also a lot of misinformation that has led to confusion about its safety. CBD contains less than 0.3 percent THC (the psychoactive marijuana component), which means it is not psychoactive and cannot get you high. In fact, there is zero evidence that CBD oil causes harm or produces a “high” effect on the human body.

6. Does it work for everyone?

CBD oil has been used to treat a number of health issues, including chronic pain, anxiety and spasms. However, for some people, CBD oil can lead to fatigue or lack of energy. This is especially true if you use CBD on an almost daily basis.

7. What are the other benefits of CBD oil?

We don’t need a lot of research to tell us that smoking or ingesting marijuana leads to loss in sensory abilities (smelling, tasting) and memory loss—and that is not good. With CBD oil from The Truth About CBD, you will be able to enjoy all the benefits I mentioned above without the marijuana high!

8. How can I find trustworthy sources of information about CBD oil?

First, you must be very careful when purchasing CBD oil from any source. Although many companies sell CBD oils and claim to have it tested independently of the marijuana industry, this is simply not possible due to the lack of regulation in the industry. In addition, most products claimed to contain industrial hemp oil or contain full spectrum CBD also contain trace amounts of THC which is illegal in many countries.

As a result you should always look for full spectrum products with little or no THC and that are manufactured at least in part by third party testing facilities.

9. Where can I find CBD products?

There are a number of reputable companies like The Truth About CBD that sell high quality CBD oils. You should do your own research and read reviews before making a purchase. The website linked above is an excellent start to learn more about the benefits of CBD and how to find the best product for you.

10. What are the long-term side effects of CBD oil?

The side effects from using pure, high-quality CBD oil are virtually nonexistent at recommended usage levels, according to our research partner, SRI. SRI is a nonprofit dedicated to conducting scientific research on behalf of patients and other stakeholders in the health care system. SRI uses a strict independent testing process to verify the safety and efficacy of CBD-based drugs, which are then available at their retail locations throughout the country.

11. How long will it last?

There is no guarantee that any CBD oil will last unless it’s been stored in an air-tight container at an optimal temperature. If you’re using a product claiming to last longer than 30 days, you should ask for evidence of third party testing that proves the product is still potent after 30 days and has not changed in composition over time.

12. How do I know if the product I am buying is high quality and reliable?

It’s important to know that you’re not just getting a product from a third party seller on Amazon. You should always do your research and make sure you’re sourcing from a verified, licensed business.

13. What’s the best way to use CBD oil?

The Truth About CBD recommends taking 5–10 drops under your tongue twice per day.  Some products recommend mixing with food or drinks, but we don’t believe that’s necessary or advisable for most people. (That’s why we’ve included some Best-in-Class products at the end of our list.)
